ETA is the last terrorist organization still operating on European soil. For the very first time, a documentary film traces the long history of the Basque nationalist movement. It tells how ETA was founded in 1959, during the repressive Franco era, and explores the successive strategies it used before finally resorting to bloody terrorism from the 1980s onwards. Today tongues are finally starting to loosen in Basque country. A series of interviews with ETA founding members, victims´ families, police officials, judges and political figures, interspersed with a wealth of archive footage, offers viewers an in-depth deciphering of nearly fifty years of ideological clashes, terror and negotiations.
