Extrait 2 - La France sous les bombes alliées

Between 1940 and 1945, allied bombings over France caused the death of 75,000 civilians, injured tens of thousands of inhabitants traumatizing part of the population and destroying part of the nation's historical heritage. Envenomed by the Vichy regime propaganda, this tragic chapter of WWII has been deprived of history. Inflicted by the "good side", these dramatic events have been brushed aside as part of inevitable collateral damage. But did such a purportedly legitimate purpose require so much sacrifice?

Allied bombings are the last remaining gray areas in the history of WWII and now attract the interest of historians. Beyond the emotional aspect, we will delve into the reasons, purpose and efficiency of allied bombings and how they have been exploited.

The film will explore the strategic issues the political and ideological dimensions of these bombings.
